Patterson unveiled its new 40ft YoYo Winch for the tank barge market at the International WorkBoat Show 2011, showing how it can help barge operators save millions. The 40ft YoYo Winch was also recently featured in the Waterways Journal Workboat Show Issue 2011.

Patterson’s electric winches, available in capacities from 20 to 90 tons, are designed for easy operation and rock-solid durability. The heavy-duty roller chain, sprockets, and roller bearings are exceptionally strong, and the phosphor bronze bearings can take whatever you can dish out. Thermostatically protected motors, machined alloy gearing, and NEMA 4 spring-loaded electric brakes make our towboat winches a study in strength. We offer 208V or 230/460V 3- phase, 60Hz high-torque motors, with other voltages, and special marine motors available.
Corrosion? Not a problem.
Patterson offers galvanized winches for optimal corrosion protection, and our saltwater-corrosion protection package leaves nothing to chance: hot-dipped galvanized construction includes stainless steel shafts, nuts, and bolts and anti- seize on all threads or fasteners.
Safety is a given.
Safety is one of Patterson’s most important hallmarks. Our towboat winches feature manual locking dogs for emergency backup use. Careful design ensures easier operation—which can reduce accidents. Our winches also feature bolted keeper plates for fast, easy shaft removal.
