In the 1950s, Patterson began the design and manufacture of towboat and barge winches, used to hold barges in a tow to the towboat and the barges to each other. Having started with just a handful of winch sizes, we now offer 20-ton thru 90-ton capacity in manual, electric, and hydraulic models. By listening to the needs of industry, design changes over the years have concentrated on making our customers' jobs safer, easier, faster. This is the brand promise we delivered then, and are still delivering today - nearly 60 years later.
